As the leading packaging specifier to its focus markets, Kaymac specialises in returnable/reusable packaging and continues to use its capabilities, influence and products to make OEM, first-tier and other component manufacturers aware of the benefits of this type of packaging over single-trip packaging.
Just as the use of raw wood packaging without the correct certification has been outlawed in many countries, so disposable or non-returnable packaging is likely to become increasingly unpopular as it drains natural resources and its disposal is often harmful to the environment. This is one reason why "returnable packaging" has become the buzzword in many industries, including the automotive sector and its suppliers.
The Kaymac solution Kaymac provides a range of returnable/reusable packaging options to satisfy the needs in the automotive and related industries – from the OEMs and their first-tier suppliers right through to second- and third-tier suppliers. Examples of this type of packaging are Kaymac’s container-compatible Collapsible bins, Performa pallets, Bulk bins and Chemtainers.
Kaymac’s products will:
protect your goods
secure your valuable cargo
ensure effective logistics
store your components
allow for easy unloading
uphold a quality image
advertise your business
Service package In addition to supplying these products, Kaymac also offers a full service package that includes a report and maintenance programme, thereby eliminating any downtime that could be experienced as a result of damaged products. This is achieved by having dedicated and experienced personnel at Kaymac’s respective warehouses or its customers’ premises wherever this is feasible.
Collapsible Bin
Disposable packaging is becoming a highly controversial topic in everyday product costing. The new collapsible bin from Kaymac Structural Foam allows for the re-use of packaging and thus saves costs. The unit is fully collapsible for easy and more cost-effective return trips. The bin is stackable, thus saving on warehousing space. The addition of a drop door allows for access to bottom bins when bins are stacked on top of one another.
Units are available with solid sides and one- or two-drop door derivatives. The easy operation of the bin allows for one operator handling. The four-way entry allows for use with most pallet jacks and fork-lifts.
The footprint of the bin nests accurately with the top of the bin allowing very stable stacking. The polymer is FDA approved and ventilation slots make it compatible with all industries. A moulded top cap allows the unit to be closed on the top where necessary.
A minimum number of working parts and the use of strong nylon composite hinge components allow for easy maintenance where necessary. The bin is available in two different heights and all dimensions are detailed in the table below.
With more focus being placed on health and hygiene in the food and related industries, the Performs Pallet provides an answer to both your reputation and your bottom line. The raw material that makes up the pallet protects against moisture and the absorption of any foreign substances into the pallet, preventing cross contamination of separate products. This also makes it easy to clean and sterilize, making the pharmaceutical application endless.
Add to this the advanced design which makes the pallet super strong and prevents the damage of packaging materials caused by protruding nails and broken slats most commonly associated with wooden pallets.
The pallet also carries a 3 year pro-rata guarantee and in the unlikely event of the pallet being damaged, the top or bottom component can be individually replaced thus eliminating the need to replace the whole pallet.
Performa Lite is a Light-Weight, 2-piece pallet with a total mass of 10,7kg. The pallet can be used either as a distribution pallet or as a rackable pallet. It possesses all of the characteristics and delivers all the benefits that have made the Performa Pallet such a market success. The performa Pallet also carries Kaymac's 3 year warrantee and is FDA complient.
The Performa Lite Pallet has 2 major applications:
· It is ideally suited to customers as a distribution pallet for export where wood is a concern in the destination country or where fumigation is required for exported loads.
·Also for those customers needing a plastic pallet where the customer controls their own distribution. The market for customers who control their own distribution is extremely relevant in South Africa owing to food companies requiring their suppliers to deliver their products on plastic pallets.
With the runner clipon system, it is ideal for the use as a rackable pallet by customers who have pallet loads of less than 800kgs. The lightness and rackability of this pallet together with its HACCP compliance is ideal.
